Cathleen Johnson, MS, TRS, OTR/L, is the Director for HCR Manor Care where she provides operational and clinical oversight for 50 post-acute rehab settings in six states and is the Corporate Rehab Consultant for occupational therapy. She is responsible for providing clinical support for all SNF setting within the corporation as well as supporting the corporation’s clinical programming and compliance initiatives.
Ms. Johnson has nearly 20 years experience in healthcare across a variety of settings including psychiatry, chemical dependency, physical rehabilitation, school therapy, and long term care. Her clinical areas of expertise include wellness program design and implementation, urinary incontinence treatment, dementia intervention including Spaced Retrieval, as well as Allen Cognitive theory and group therapy. She is an experienced program developer who has produced and presented training courses and seminars at the national and state level for both Occupational Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation organizations including the Michigan Occupational Therapy Association annual conference where she presented, two sessions: Tests and Measure in OT Practice and Role of OT in Treating Urinary Incontinence. Ms. Johnson developed an extensive group therapy training for occupational, physical and speech therapists and has trained hundreds on how to plan, lead and implement group therapy for physical rehabilitation patients.
She received her Masters from Rush University and her BS from Central Michigan University.
