Colleen DeRitis, MA, OTR/L

Colleen Ann DeRitis, MA, OTR/L, is a licensed and registered occupational therapist with more than 19 years of clinical experience across skilled nursing, inpatient, outpatient, assisted-living, home care, long-term and sub-acute care settings. Mrs. DeRitis holds a Specialty Certification in Environmental Modification which facilitates aging in place and independent living for clients with life-limiting conditions. She has extensive experience in coordinating multidisciplinary care and documenting clinical programming to conform to PPS, MDS, RUG and other Medicare rules to optimize reimbursements.

As an adjunct faculty member at New York University, Dominican College and State University of New York, Mrs. DeRitis has taught courses on Advanced Treatment Techniques, Clinical Conditions Across the Life Span, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, PNF techniques, Therapeutic Environmental Design, and Biopsychosocial Maturation. She is a skilled instructor who has developed curriculum for managed care rehab services, workforce retraining for home health aids, and created and implemented an OT Telehealth Pilot Study for home care.

Mrs. DeRitis has published in Advance for Occupational Therapy and contributed a chapter to the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam Review Study Guide (Cottrell). She earned her MA in occupational therapy from New York University, received her BA from Saint Joseph’s College, and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
