Eric Oestmann, Ph.D., PT

Eric Oestmann, PT, MS, Ph.D., is a licensed physical therapist, associate faculty member at Simmons College and the DPT (Doctorate in Physical Therapy) program, and founder of OEI Consulting, Inc. a healthcare and education consulting firm.

Dr. Oestmann began his career in the US Air Force. He is a Six Sigma black belt, Certified Professional in Health Quality (CPHQ) and a skilled computer programmer. Dr. Oestmann’s clinical experience is in a variety of settings including out-patient, in-patient, neuro-rehabilitation, long-term care, and work hardening and currently practices at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Bradenton, FL. He has over 20 years experience in management and leadership positions (CEO, Hospital Rehabilitation Director; Director of Physical Therapy; and independent healthcare consulting) with various non-profit and for-profit outpatient healthcare facilities, inpatient hospitals, universities, and private consulting organizations. Dr. Oestmann has written 23 health care related textbooks for Charles C. Thomas Publisher, VDM Publishing, and East-West Publishing. He is an experienced program developer who has produced and presented training courses and seminars nationally and has taught more than 40 healthcare and business management modules.

Dr. Oestmann received a Ph.D. in Healthcare Management from Capella University, a Ph.D. in Healthcare Administration from Southwest University and an MS in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a National Advisory Panel Member in Healthcare Management and Administration.
