George Summers, PT, MPT, OCS, is a licensed physical therapist and board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (ABPTS) with 18 years of clinical experience in multiple settings, including outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing, on-field, and home health. Mr. Summers is the owner of Excel Physical Therapy, Inc. His clinics specialize in hands-on, manual therapy, movement pattern dysfunctions, and patient-specific stretching and strengthening programs designed to systematically resolve identified causes of symptomatic pain and dysfunction. His areas of expertise and competency in orthopedic rehabilitation include joint mobilization of the spine and peripheral joints, manual therapy with soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release, intramuscular therapy/integrated dry needling, identifying biomechanical and movement pattern dysfunctions of the extremities and spine, and applying unique stretching and strengthening exercises on a case by case basis. He has had the good fortune of working with, and learning from a multitude of exceptional and well known therapists. He also depends on his experiences correcting his own dysfunction, having overcome numerous injuries, and believes this has been an invaluable tool in learning how to best help others. He believes that the best proof there is that therapy works, is getting consistent results from the techniques we apply. Not everything is in a book, and our profession is constantly evolving. We must strive to learn new techniques and thought processes, and think outside the box.
