George Summers, PT, MPT, OCS

George Summers, PT, MPT, OCS, is a licensed physical therapist and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (ABPTS) with 15 years of clinical experience. Mr. Summers is the owner of Excel Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Inc. which specializes in hands-on, manual therapy, movement pattern dysfunctions, and patient-specific stretching and strengthening programs designed to systematically resolve identified causes of symptomatic pain. His areas of expertise and competency in orthopedic rehabilitation include joint mobilization of the spine and peripheral joints, manual therapy with soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release, identifying biomechanical and movement pattern dysfunctions of the extremities and spine, and applying unique stretching and strengthening exercises on a case by case basis.

Mr. Summers has extensive experience in sport-related injury rehabilitation and emergency sports medicine. He has completed PGA/LPGA endorsed performance training with Dr. Robert Donatelli, has treated players on the LPGA tour, has trained with the North American Sports Medicine Institute, and has been a guest presenter for various professional, college, and high school sports teams. Mr. Summers is trained as an emergency first responder and provides sports medicine coverage for his local high school.

He received his MPT from Slippery Rock University where he also obtained his BS in Allied Health. He is currently working on his DPT at the University of St. Augustine.
