Ricardo Carrasco, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA

Ricardo C. Carrasco, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA has over 35 years of occupational therapy, neuropsychology, education, and business experience. Dr. Carrasco is certified in the SCSIT, SIPT, and TLP and received his Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Certificate in Pediatrics from the NDT Association. He was a Faculty and Certified Test Mechanics Observer for Sensory Integration International and currently provides occupational therapy and developmental neuropsychological research, training, and direct services at Beckman & Associates. Dr. Carrasco is the CEO of FiestaJoy Foundation, through which he practices, teaches and conducts research studies in pediatric and adult occupational wellness, especially as they relate to sensory processing. He has more than 30 years experience as a consultant to professional associations, institutional committees, government agencies, and community based programs. He is a Professor Emeritus and former Chairman of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Medical College of Georgia School of Allied Health Sciences and Graduate Studies where he also had a pediatric practice.

Dr. Carrasco has served as adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University and Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences, faculty for the Southern Institute for Faculty Training (SIFT) of the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Center at UNC-Chapel Hill and has published internationally. He has received teaching fellowships from the United Nations and Saudi Arabia, and research grants from the Georgia Indigent Care Trust Fund.

Dr. Carrasco has an earned doctorate in Neuropsychology and Occupational Dysfunction and is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association. He is active with the Florida Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) which has awarded Dr. Carrasco the prestigious 2010 Award of Merit.
