Rick Dellagatta, PT, DPT, M.Ed, is a licensed physical therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience and the CEO of Maple Leaf Physical Therapy. Dr. Dellagatta has worked extensively on exercise physiology and motor learning with a special emphasis on neurology. He has developed and implemented fall screening and balance retraining programs and established a practice pattern for fall prevention in medically frail developmentally disabled individuals.
Dr. Dellagatta was an assistant professor of physical therapy at Stockton State College and has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, and the University of the Science. He has presented research and lectured at the state and national levels on topics ranging from electrotherapy to exercise physiology and is a co-author of Electromagnetic Radiation: Laser, Ultraviolet and Diathermy in Michlovitz & Nolan (ed): Modalities for Therapeutic Intervention.
Dr. Dellagatta earned his doctorate in physical therapy from Drexel University, received his masters from Temple University, and obtained his BS in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the World Association of Laser Therapists, and an active member of the New Jersey chapter of the APTA from whom he received the Excellence in Clinical Teaching and Practice Award.
