Tambra Marik, OT R/L, OT D, CHT , is a licensed occupational therapist certified by NBCOT, a certified hand therapist, a doctor of occupational therapy, is certified by the American Council on Exercise, and was recently certified in Stott Pilates. Dr. Marik specializes in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of the upper extremity having worked full time in an out patient rehabilitation clinic for more than a decade. Her clinical expertise includes treatment of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, splinting, woundcare, soft tissue techniques, manual techniques, work simulation, as well as work place ergonomic assessments. She is an experienced program developer who has produced and presented training courses and seminars locally and nationally on such topics as evidence-based medicine, wound care, anatomy and management of extensor tendons, and lateral epicondylosis.
Dr. Marik has published in the Journal of Hand Therapy and is the Co-Founder of South Sound monthly hand therapy education meetings. She is trained in manual therapy, modalities, myofascial release, Kinesio® Taping, critical analysis and her clinical background includes critical analysis of evidence-based treatment interventions. She developed an evidence based treatment protocol status post distal radius for fractures surgically treated with volar plating.
Dr. Marik received her doctorate in occupational therapy and hand therapy from the Rocky Mountain University of Health Care Professionals and her BA in occupational therapy from the University of Puget Sound. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Washington State Occupational Therapy Association, the American Society of Hand Therapists, and the Washington State Hand Therapy Study Group.
