“Text Neck?”, “Cell Phone Elbow?” – Younger individuals feeling the pain caused by our frequent use of technology

Here’s an interesting article I found on www.washingtonpost.com. It is hard to live without our devices. Phones, computer, tablets are the new norm as we have to stay connect. According to this article, that dependency and how much we use these devices could be causing us some pain.

While most of this pain in relatively minor and can be alleviated with a break from our technology and basic treatment, Debra Milek, a University of Washington associate professor in environmental and occupational health sciences, warns that this can lead to future health problems:  “Discomfort may be an early indicator of future injury,” Milek noted, “which is why it’s important to pay attention to how we use these devices.”

Have you experience an uptick in the number of patients that you treat with these conditions? What is the best form of treatment that you use? Reply below in the comments section, we would love to hear from you!
