Upper Limb Ataxia: Bridging the Gap between Research and Clinical Application
Mar 7, 2026 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM US/Eastern)
Price:$259.99
Ataxia is characterized by a lack of coordination and/or tremor. Individuals with ataxia have a combination of unique atypical manifestations with divergent functional barriers. Despite the distinct clinical manifestations, many clinicians lack an in-depth understanding of the underlying pathophysiology that explains these unique atypical movement patterns, as well as how to custom tailor their approach to meet their needs. To address divergent barriers requires clinicians to "think outside the box" and expand their treatment inventory.
Linking that clinical gap is the aim of this course. Through dissecting research articles and watching real-life examples of individuals with ataxia performing the exercises utilized, the learner will receive customized interventions and strategies to tailor their approach. The primary concentration will be on the upper limb ataxia with a comprehensive approach from assessment to practical interventions with videos, music, and interactive knowledge checks. Demonstrations of adaptedequipment and home modifications will assist the learner in expanding their clinical toolbox and feel prepared to meet the unique needs of their patients with ataxia.
