Additional Information

Different perspectives have emerged through the years as professionals have analyzed and addressed assessment, intervention, and collaboration needs for individuals with auditory processing disorders (APD) and/or weaknesses. A developmental, multi-modal framework is needed to focus on deficit-specific areas using individualized and intensive bottom-up and top-down processing strategies. This course will provide participants with a practical, evidence-based model of intervention to address these needs. Additionally, participants will develop an understanding of auditory processing disorders in relation to functional activities of daily living and will be guided through the process of analyzing data and developing treatment goals, activities, and strategies that can be utilized immediately within a therapeutic, school, and/or home environment.

Target Audience: Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists

more remediation activities that can be done without use of a program that needs to be purchased would be helpful

this was one of the most challenging courses for me to follow. it seems that she assumed we are all familiar with the terms re: to speech %26 auditory processing, but the way it was presented was confusing %26 hard to process myself. she is probably knowledgeable with the info, but made numerous assumptions that her verbiage %26 material is something we have been exposed to. many of the terms, i had never heard nor was i familiar %26 did not seem to uncover their meanings in a manner that i could flow with it.

her manual for the course was brief requiring to write down all the information she was providing. she should revise her manual to include the information.

i liked learning about the treatment approaches but it wouldn't been helpful to see her with an actual child.
