Additional Information

Different perspectives have emerged through the years as professionals have analyzed and addressed assessment, intervention, and collaboration needs for individuals with auditory processing disorders (APD) and/or weaknesses. A developmental, multi-modal framework is needed to focus on deficit-specific areas using individualized and intensive bottom-up and top-down processing strategies. This course will provide participants with a practical, evidence-based model of intervention to address these needs. Additionally, participants will develop an understanding of auditory processing disorders in relation to functional activities of daily living and will be guided through the process of analyzing data and developing treatment goals, activities, and strategies that can be utilized immediately within a therapeutic, school, and/or home environment.

her manual for the course was brief requiring to write down all the information she was providing. she should revise her manual to include the information.

i liked the visuals and the practice of the hearing exercises. i would prefer more of those interactive pieces first half of your lecture. i was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the audio tests listed and explanations. or maybe show visuals of those tests at the start to add visuals versus discussing all the tests to cater to the visual learners.

i enjoyed her personal experiences with auditory processing disorders and her ability to provide good assessment and intervention information.
