Cognitive Development for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) encourages the use of evidence-based practice in clinical decision-making; however, recent surveys show that most clinicians report they do not have the time to researchtopics. Autism research has doubled over the past decade and with advances in neuroimaging, we now know which neurological differences can predict future language development. Participants who attend this course will have the opportunity to evaluate research from multiple disciplines and develop an understanding of how neurodivergent brains process input differently during sensitive periods in language development.
