Additional Information

Treating children with any level of disability can present multiple challenges. There can be underlying issues that arenot immediately obvious. An in-depth evaluation is required to uncover what might be interfering with function. This course will present how to use the ICF (International Classification of Function) and the use of a systems approach to analyze challenges that a child presents. We will explore case studies of real examples to further clinicians' understanding of these two systems. Therapists will learn to apply problem-solving techniques using the ICF template. In addition, participantswill become comfortable using a systems approach to explore multiple systems that could interfere with function, with a goal of understanding achievable goals for children of all levels of function.
