Foundations of Applying Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-based practice is more than an expectation. It is an ethical, professional responsibility. Clients rely upon health professionals to employ the highest level of standards and ensure clinical decisions are supported by up-to-date literature. One key contributor to the health professions is the Choosing Wisely campaign that aims to educate the public and health professionals of clinical expectations based on presented evidence. With the added emphasis to useevidence-supported evaluation tools and interventions, health professionals must take the time to translate evidence into action. With this session, practitioners will gain the confidence to locate, understand, and critique available research to effectively utilize in their practice setting therefore enhancing and restoring patient's functional performance.
