Additional Information

Treating children with any level of disability can present multiple challenges. There can be underlying issues that arenot immediately obvious. An in-depth evaluation is required to uncover what might be interfering with function. This course will present how to use the ICF (International Classification of Function) and the use of a systems approach to analyze the challenges a child presents. We will explore the basic principles of the Neurodevelopment Treatment (NDT) practice model and the importance of hands-on treatment to make changes for improved function.

We will discuss the importance of strength and endurance in relation to increasing function. Therapists will become comfortable using a systems approach to explore multiple systems that could be interfering with function, with a goal of understanding achievable goals for children of all levels of function.

The content of this program is germane to children, students and clients ages birth-21 yearsold.

Highlights
