Additional Information

Children with and without existing diagnoses are presenting with sensory and motor challenges due to persistent primitive reflexes. These children present with coordination, balance, and motor challenges that influence their ability to fully engage in meaningful play. Due to theinfluence on motor development, the presence of reflexes also influences a child's ability to fully participate in their home and school environments.

This relevant course emphasizes the need to evaluatethe presence of reflexes, motor development, and sensory differences to develop an effective plan of treatment. Various hands-on opportunities to trial assessment tools and intervention strategies will be provided. We will also discuss the best practices for documenting treatment to support highimpact interventions and illustrate the need for therapy services. This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists who work with children to develop additional solutions to influence motor development and skill acquisition.

*Hands on lab will be modified for Web based delivery formats into recorded demonstrations

this course was well taught and includes great resources for practical application. one down fall is that the instructor ran out of time towards the end, and i feel more time should have been spent on specific treatment interventions and reviewing the case studies she included.

i preferred more treatment ideas instead of frames of references.

Adina (PA) on Feb 02, 2026

i feel that i would have gained more knowledge and understanding of the reflexes and what it looks like when they are not integrated if the presenter would have included videos of these.

very informative.

Monica (GA) on Feb 01, 2026

videos of the activities would have been beneficial. she demonstrated, but the demonstrations were not effective due to not being able to see her whole body....i.e. arms and legs were not visible.

i wish this course did had more visuals, especially videos to demonstrate the assessments and treatments. i feel like i need to see how the assessments and treatments look in real life rather than in drawings
