Sensory integration and processing difficulties are complex and negatively impact a child's ability to be successful in school-based occupations and activities. Therapists are expected to assess, treat and recommend accommodations and modifications to address these sensory difficulties and help students improve their participation in school-based occupations. Fifteen to thirty percent of earlyschool aged children 4-6 years old, show clinically significant difficulties processing sensory input and regulating their responses (Passarello, et al., 2022).
