Sensory integration and processing difficulties are complex and negatively impact a child's ability to be successful in school-based occupations and activities. Therapists are expected to assess, treat and recommend accommodations and modifications to address these sensory difficulties and help students improve their participation in school-based occupations. Fifteen to thirty percent of earlyschool aged children 4-6 years old, show clinically significant difficulties processing sensory input and regulating their responses (Passarello, et al., 2022). As evidence-basedassessments are more plentiful and accurate this numbercontinues to increase. It is essential to being a successfulschool-based therapist to have a toolbox of strategies readyto address these issues, including sensory assessments, treatments, accommodations, and modification recommendations. This course will not only review current evidence but also use case examples to practice choosing appropriate assessments, and treatments. Upon completion of this course, you will have tools to add to your therapeutic toolbox to ensure your sensory assessments, treatments, and recommendations are up to date, evidence-based andappropriate for school-based practice.
The content of this program is germane to children, students and clients ages 3-21 years old.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists

i thought there was going to be more talk of the pros on cons of each assessment rather than just rattling off the statistics of reliability and validity. also, she flat out said she was not particularly familiar with one of the assessments because she had never used it. it seemed ill advised to talk about an assessment that you yourself have not used with at least some regularity.
