Treating Torticollis
Price:$219.99
Congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) is the third most common congenital musculoskeletal anomaly in infants. Positional plagiocephaly may contribute to torticollis and there has been an increase in occurrence since the 1992 American Academy of Pediatrics' Back-to-Sleep campaign. Early intervention professionals are on the front line of treating children with torticollis and plagiocephaly, whether in the neonatal intensive care unit, the baby nursery at hospitals, and especially when visiting homes in the early interventionsetting; early identification and appropriate treatment can improve outcomes for these infants.
This interactive workshop provides resources and education to understand the etiology, evaluation, and treatment of infants with CMT. The Section of Pediatrics of the APTA's Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) is discussed and applied to determine appropriate interventions, guide referrals to other specialists, and determine when discharge is appropriate. Participants will discuss cases, group problem solve, and practice use of tools for evaluating this population. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be familiar with the CMT CPG and have the proper tools for evaluating and treating infants with CMT.

i appreciated that the information was presented in a way that was easy to understand, provided practical clinical techniques that i can implement immediately and the case studies were particularly helpful.

i would have provided the case study information for the lab portion on the screen so people taking it online had something to work on while listening to the lab portion.

i think it was most likely a much better course in person. there is a lot of lag time during practice sessions, and it's hard to follow.

the instructor made it understandable how to distinguish one type of torticollis from the other, as i have spent much time trying to understand it online with no such understanding.

speaker was a little slow to in speech pattern. with it being taped for an online course it would have been nice if there was more attention to either restating a question or giving a mic to the person so it could be heard when viewing online.

slideshow was not within view throughout the course which made it difficult to follow along. the instructor referenced visuals on the slides throughout the course and they could not be seen since the video was only on the instructor.
