Additional Information

Falls are a leading cause of injury and loss of independence among older adults, making fall prevention a critical focus in geriatric physical and occupational therapy. With an ever-expanding aging population, there is a clear and urgent need for clinicians to be equipped with the toolsand knowledge to prevent falls and maintain mobility in this vulnerable group.

Through evidence-based instruction, attendees will assess and prioritize individual fall risk factors using objective tools and clinical reasoning. The course also provides practical strategies for balance re-education and fall prevention, including guidance on implementing community- based programs. Participants will leave with actionable techniques to enhance patient safety, promote independence, and improve overall outcomes—both in the clinic and the broader community.
