Rehabilitation therapists are pressured to provide thorough and precise documentation to prove medical necessity. Additionally, rehabilitation therapists are required to support their billing and coding decisions in their documentation. Changes to documentation systems and to the coding/billing laws occur frequently. Outpatient rehabilitation therapists have an added stressor of a quick and quantity-based environment. After providing patient care, therapists frequently spend several hours at the end of their day documenting, billing and navigating any errors made fromprior days' notes. High burn-out rates occur due to the quick pace and limited education provided by employers.
This course will provide evidence-based education onoutpatient documentation and billing/coding. Effective efficiency tips will be provided to reduce the time spent documenting and billing patient treatments at the end of theday. Patient videos and case studies will be provided to enhance learning. At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to immediately improve their documentation and billing/coding skills to optimize reimbursement and prevent insurance denials and errors that require correction at a later date.
