Price:$99.99
The Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA) estimates that as many as 35% of adults over the age of 40 have experienced some form of vestibular dysfunction. Studies indicate that 5.6 million clinic visits per year occur for dizziness, in which, between 17% and 42% receive a diagnosis of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). BPPV is considered the cause of approximately 50% of dizziness in older adults and is the most common vestibular disorder. Therapists who are trained in appropriate treatment of vestibular dysfunction can significantly impact patient outcomes. In fact, studies indicate that successful remission of the signs and symptoms of BPPV is obtained in 67%-94% of all patients treated with canalith repositioning treatment (CRT), compared with 0%-48% for those given no treatment. This course will provide participants with the knowledge andskill set necessary to understand the assessment and treatment of BPPV through evidence-based practice.Participants will learn nystagmus patterns through video analysis.
