Additional Information

The long-term care and senior healthcare industry is dramatically changing the underlying rules, ranging from higher expectations of outcomes to lower reimbursement rates. In essence we are encouraged to do more with less, while assuring the best outcomes for each individual patient. Periodic group therapy sessions have proven to be an effective practice to decrease costs while increasing the client's self-efficacy, motivation and carryover of skills towardthe desired clinical outcomes.

This course provides evidence to support different goals at the discipline-specific level as well as through interprofessional functional group therapy sessions. Requirements for each reimbursement source will be shared, with supporting levels of documentation for each. Participants will walk away with a range of innovative group formats witheasy-to-follow charts and approaches to be used immediately in different healthcare settings.
