Fall Risk Assessment, Prevention, and Treatment

This course will help practitioners identify the multi- factorial risks associated with the elderly population regarding falls and injuries. This information will provide the ability to decrease healthcare costs and implement preventative measures for improved quality of life. This course will provide hands-on fall risk assessment and discuss the validity, sensitivity, and specificity of widely used tests. This course will also provide hands-on treatment options to help decrease fall risk and improve safety for patients who commonly walk into both an outpatient and primary care setting. Following this course, clinicians will have tools for effective assessment and treatment of patients who are at an increased risk of falls and injuries.
