Applying Neuroplasticity in Rehabilitation

Clinicians treating neurological conditions are now charged with not only improving independence but also targeting neuroplasticity. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists must now not only restore function, but in addition, create new brain pathways. Insurance companies provide fewer visits, thus adding more pressure on clinicians to ensure every minute is therapeutic. This course will provide current evidence on how neuroplasticity works in the neurological patient and practical interventions that can be added into treatment sessions. Participants will leave with a thorough understanding of how to educate patients and caregivers on neuroplasticity and how to ensure neuroplasticity is occurring every moment of therapy.
