Pilates is a popular form of exercise that emphasizes core control, breathwork, and mobility. This course discusses how to specifically tailor Pilates-based exercises to older adults who are at risk for loss of muscle mass, decreased balance, decreased strength and decreased function. Participants willlearn safe, low-impact exercises that support balance, mobility and strength. Participants will be guided through modifications and progressions that can be appliedimmediately to treatment sessions. This course offers practical exercise progressions for older adults that promote strength, mobility, balance and functional capacity. No prior Pilates experience necessary.
