In the United States of America trauma is the leading cause of death for individuals up the age of 45-50 years of age. Overall, trauma related events are the fourth leading cause of death overall for all ages. The resulting acute andchronic injuries will usually require a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses and therapists, to provide a comprehensive treatment plan for successful recovery. Due to the challenges these trauma events exact on thehealthcare system there is a significant need for everyclinician and provider to have a clear understanding of how these events impact care delivery and patient outcomes.
The focus of this course is to help the individual therapist provide comprehensive, high complexity evaluations to identify and address key areas of potential limitation for apatient following a traumatic event. Following the completion of this webinar the therapist will be able to understand essential elements to include in the evaluation, commoninjuries most often encountered in the trauma population, the important role of multidisciplinary communication and collaboration, and necessary considerations for therapeutic interventions.

there was a lot of focus on icu\/inpatient care and assessment \/objective tests in general and i was expecting more related to trauma patients

recommendations: i am a seasoned acute care pt, but i learned nothing in this course-disappointing. speaker moves very slowly. true case studies that discuss progression of a patient's actual treatment and ultimately their disposition are needed.

this course was filmed during the pandemic but i can tell that the instructor was distracted by things in his own environment which was, at times, distracting to the students.
