Building Patient Rapport and Compliance

Extensive studies have shown the benefit and impact of trust in the client-patient relationship. However, rapport goes a long way with other members of the care and management teams. Such attention is given during our academic years to all we need to know clinically, that sometimes the people connection skills are missed or assumed to develop once in clinical practice. Without the ability to connect with patients, coworkers, or management; therapists can find themselves frustrated, feeling disconnected, and limited in their career advancement options.

This course will provide an overview of what rapport is and is not, and how this impacts communication. Participantswill learn strategies that can be immediately applied to their interactions as well as building rapport in strained relationships.
