Supervision and Mentoring Tools
Price:$99.99
Many therapists will be required to supervise an assistant, student, or staff member at some point in their career, yet this is often not an extensive part of their degree training. Without learning successful mentoring strategies, clinicians may fall into traps such as micromanaging, not clarifying expectations or a variety of other mistakes that lead to decreased efficiency of the staff member or intern. With a few proactive plans in place, mentoring can be very rewarding and thepersons being supervised can be most successful in their work. This course will set up the supervisor for success with the resources to achieve a win/win for both the mentor and the mentee. Discussion will include examples and tips for all supervisors, ranging from the first-time supervisor of a student intern to a higher-level organization leader.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists

i did not realize that the emphasis of the course would be on supervision of student interns. as a supervisor of multiple therapy departments with highly seasoned practitioners, i was hoping for more information on supervising strategies them rather than students.

instructor included information that is common knowledge, like where to put your purse, etc. obviously you would do that, but it doesn't need to be mentioned in a course.

i was hoping for "tools" such as checklists for skills necessary for the student to acquire\/demonstrate during an internship or cfy. i had seen this in a previous course. otherwise, it was a good course.
