Additional Information

This course will provide an overview and background on the role of both traditional inelastic taping and elastic taping using kinesiology tape for de-loading/facilitation/ inhibition strategies. There will be a review of the relevant literature produced in this area with an emphasis on cervical and upper extremity conditions that are most suited for the use of therapeutic taping including lateral epicondylitis, upper crossed syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, rib fractures, gamekeeper's thumb, and myofascial trigger points. The use of special tests for these conditions will be reviewed alongwith examples of taping methods used in contemporary research studies along with their outcomes.
