Additional Information

Athletes and non-athletes are frequently affected by elbow and wrist injuries. These injuries often occur from overuse/micro-trauma or macro-traumatic injury. The structures involved with injuries in this region can include joints, tendon, nerve, or combinations of different tissues. Identifying and directing interventions at a specific structure presents a significant challenge for clinicians. This course will teach participants to make appropriate plan of care decisions based on a comprehensive examination process designed to identify a specific structural cause of pain and dysfunction. Clinicians can improve productivity and reimbursement by maximizing the efficient use of time during the patient's initial evaluation.

This course will provide a case-based approach to examination of patients with elbow and wrist pain and dysfunction. Manual therapy techniques will be presented through video demonstration and clear, concise illustrated hand-out materials. Clinicians with all levels of experience and expertise will be able to effectively manage patients with elbow and wrist pain and dysfunction using hands-on manual therapy.

Highlights

  • Provide a 15-minute systematic examination that includes differential diagnosis for the elbow and wrist
  • Video demonstrations that provide clear step-by-step visual and narrative descriptions of all treatment techniques
  • Communication tools to effectively collaborate with all treatment team members, including referral sources
  • Effective evidence-based treatment interventions based on anatomy and biomechanics
