Weight training is an activity that individuals of all ages engage in to improve health, increase their ability to perform their ADLs, and improve athletic performance. The shoulder is one of the most injured areas when individuals engage in this activity. This course will specifically cover the different types of weight training activities and lifts within these activities that may cause shoulder injuries. It will improve the participant's understanding of how specific types of weight training increase the possibility of shoulder injury. It will also cover common clinical patterns/presentations in the evaluation process and how to effectively manage these individuals in the clinical setting using manual therapy/hands-on techniques and therapeutic exercises along with modifications for different types of exercises.
