Debra Johnson, MS, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with 37 years of experience, specializing in pediatrics and developmental disorders including sensory processing disorders. She is currently the owner of STEPS for Kids, Inc located in Yorkville, Illinois where she and her staff use a relationship-based developmental approach to improve functional outcomes for children referred for therapy. She is also the owner of STEPS for Development, PLLC, where she offers parent coaching, community and professional education, consultation services and hosts the STEPS Together Podcast supporting parents and caregivers of neurodiverse children. She is SIPT certified, STAR Mentorship Level 1 trained and certified in clinical interventions including; auditory, brain training and handwriting programs, and family advocacy services. Ms. Johnson has a wide range of experience in pediatrics and neuro- rehabilitation as well as having worked in hospitals, clinics, schools, skilled nursing and home health during her career. She received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Services Administration from DePaul University in Chicago.
