

Janice Nathan, MS, CCC-SLP is a certified speech- language pathologist and owner of Nathan Speech Services. Over the past 16 years Janice has worked with children and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related neurodevelopment disorders. She grew up in a family with ASD, and this unique childhood experience led her to develop a unique evidence-based language intervention. Janice is a Network Supervisor (Clinical Supervisor) with the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Council (PAC) for Autism Connection of PA, a nonprofit Autism education and advocacy organization. She also is a member of the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR), a scientific and professional organization devoted to advancing knowledge about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Janice has presented at numerous conferences, conventions and workshops, including the Penn State Autism Conference, Autism Society of America's annual conference, the American Speech Hearing Language Association (ASHA) annual conference, and the Pennsylvania Speech Language Hearing Association's (PSHA) annual conference. Internationally recognized, Janice was an invited speaker for a two-day workshop as well as a one-hour seminar for the 6th Egyptian Society for Phoniatrics and Logopedics Congress (this is the international association for Speech-Language Pathologists), held in Cairo, Egypt. Janice conducted a research study looking at a speech-language intervention focused on developing inner speech and emotional self-regulation in children with ASD, which is currently under revision. Prior to starting her private practice, Janice worked for three years at The Children's Institute, an independent nonprofit pediatric rehabilitation specialty hospital in Pittsburgh. She worked in the Paradise Valley School District in Phoenix, Arizona, providing services for children in preschool through sixth grade. Janice received her B.A. at the University of Oregon and her M.S. at Arizona State University in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
