Dr. Paula L. Simpson, OTR/L, MHA, ASDCS has been a licensed occupational therapist for over 25 years working with the pediatric and geriatric population in various settings. These settings include early intervention, outpatient, skilled nursing, rehab, school, acute care and LTAC settings. Paula is the founder of Bridges of Possibilities, a pediatric therapy clinic that specializes in occupational, physical and speech therapy services for children with exceptional abilities. Paula is the owner of We Rock the Spectrum Merrillville, a sensory gym that creates a welcoming space for children of all abilities to develop and thrive. Paula is also the founder of camp HYPE- Helping Young People Excel-a summer camp focused on building skills for children with special abilities. Paula is the author of the book entitled Sensory Integration, "Now That Makes Sense!" featured in Autism Digest and Atlanta's Trendsetter magazine. She is the author of "Sacred Shades", an inspirational coloring book and prayer journal. Paula is a columnist for the Autism Digest. Her work is characterized by compassion, innovation, and a deep commitment to community service. She actively participates in outreach activities, professional training, faith-based initiatives, and speaking engagements to promote awareness and education. She has a combined holistic and nurturing approach to help children/adults maximize their functional independence and achieve developmental outcomes. Paula holds a Doctorate of Arts degree in Ministry Leadership from Vineyard Biblical Seminary. She obtained her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Chicago State University and a master's degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix. Paula is a Certified Autism Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS) and a Certified Advanced Brain Technology provider through "The Listening Program." Additionally, she is a trained DIR-Floortime provider. With this diverse and comprehensive background, Paula brings a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to her work in pediatric therapy and leadership.
