Developmental Implications of Crawling in Pediatric Therapy

Price:$59.99

Additional Information

When it was released in 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s "Learn the Signs. Act Early developmental milestone checklists omitted crawling as a developmental milestone and has since been debated among pediatric PTs in the United States." Creeping on all fours has long been a goal used by physical and occupational therapists to increase a child's locomotion and progress their gross motor skills in route to standing and walking. This course will address the shift in screening recommendations and provide a rationale for clinical decision-making. In addition, information will be provided on the impacts of notcrawling, components needed for crawling, and hands-on ideas for teaching this skill.

Highlights

  • Current guidelines for crawling as a developmental milestone and incorporate current physical therapy literature guidance
  • Practical strategies for implementing crawlinginto therapy goals

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants

it was my first podcast for continuing education. i'm not sure it's my style of learning, but nothing against the instructor

instructor was excellent. this was my first pod cast so it seemed like there was too much information for an hour. instructor spoke extremely fast and i had to stop and rewind several times to catch what was being said. would of loved same instructor in a 2 hour web for same topic.

would have been more effective as a video, possibly with demonstrations of techniques.

great- very practical too!

would have preferred video instead of podcast. she just read from her script. there was no dialogue or pictures. would have appreciated a more creative way of sharing the information. content was good but the way it was shared was not preferred. resource attached was not very helpful either. but the speaker was very knowledgable.
