Managing sensory processing challenges is crucial to the success of development. Sensory integration has become an area of focus for many different reasons, including environmental factors resulting in global sensorial challenges impacting language, motor, and social communication. Children with sensory processing disorder and traumatic experiences benefit from sensory treatment strategies impacting physical and neurological outcomes. This relevant course emphasizes how creativity is the keyto implementing practical solutions for children with sensory- related trauma challenges. The purpose of this course is to introduce key elements and concepts on how to best meetthe needs tailored to children with sensory challenges despite traumatic childhood events. This course will provide tips, tools, and tidbits on applying creative strategies to achieve desired outcomes. We will discover and discuss effective strategies through direct interaction. In addition, we will explore the critical dos and don'ts of therapeutic activities forchildren experiencing sensory-related challenges. This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists working with children with sensory-related challenges and childhood trauma experiences.

i liked the examples, between the video that was shown and the questions %26 answers. it helped to visualize\/realize how these situations effect people during the moment as well as later in life.

i felt like the instructor did a good job with explaining things and used great examples with the videos provided in the course. maybe more treatment ideas and information on aces would be helpful.

i know the topic of weighted blankets was discussed as a potential intervention. i would have explained more regarding this intervention such as appropriate weight, contraindications, etc. they aren't helpful when not used properly.

i enjoyed how the instructor provided lots of opportunities for questions and answers throughout the presentation. i also liked how the instructor had survey questions for students to increase involvement and participation.
