Dual-Task Intervention in Complex Neurological Conditions
Price:$99.99
Dual tasking is the capacity to perform a second task simultaneously and is incorporated into many activities of daily living (ADLs). The ability to perform gait and balance tasks requires cognition tasks of attention, processing speed, andmemory. The deficits in central sensory integration and cognitive-motor interference (CMI) can result in both impaired postural control and performance decrement to either the motor or cognitive task performed. It is believed that motorand cognitive impairments lead to a higher incidence of falls during ADLs in the neurologically impaired population5 as well as a decline in quality of life. Traditional strengthening and coordination exercises performed during therapy may not adequately prepare the person for thesecomplex conditions to return to community living which is steep in tasks requiring dual tasking. Dual-task training has been proven to enhance neuroplasticity and balance in neurological diseases. This course will provide evidence- based practice guidelines for the use of dual-tasking as an intervention for patients living with neurological diseases or conditions.

everything was fine. the presenter seemed likeable and knowledgeable . the only issue i had was with her vocal fry. this, however, is just a personal pet peeve and did not take away from the overall subject matter.

unfortunately the chat feature became a distraction during this course when a attendee starting negatively talking about the instructor and the information she was presenting. very unprofessional. the preceptor did a good job trying to divert this situation and deleting the chat however, the attendee continued to be disruptive for an extended period of time. this attendee should have some sort of consequence to prevent future disruptions.

sadly, the instructor spoke to softly and too fast for a clinician not working in the neuro field all the time and in an outpt setting. i work in homecare with largely a geriatric population. much of what she taught is not safe or applicable to my setting

this particular course had a participant who became a distraction in the chat box. criticism of the instructor and material is unprofessional at least. use of profanity in this setting is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. becoming argumentative with other participants creates next-level problems. please consider establishing a company protocol for how to remove participants from live webinars in these circumstances regardless of mental health concerns or cognitive deficits. this education is an investment of time and financial resources. it is essential that everyone has the best opportunity to gain the most out of each course.

not by fault of the presenter, but inappropriate chat comment by one of the viewers was distracting.
