Upper extremity lymphedema, whether from cancer treatment, trauma, or vascular dysfunction, can severely impact daily function, comfort, and independence. More than 40% of breast cancer survivors will experience lymphedema, often underdiagnosed or mismanaged in general rehab settings. Failure to provide timely, evidence-based intervention can lead to complications such as cellulitis, loss of ROM, and long-term disability.
This course will equip therapists with current best practices in lymphedema assessment and management, including manual therapy, compression options, patient education, and documentation strategies. Participants will gain real-world tools and clinical reasoning skills to confidently manage upper extremity lymphedema and enhance quality of life for their patients.
