Schaumburg, IL - Jun 6, 2026 (8:00 AM to 3:30 PM US/Central)
Price:$299.99
As we embark on the biggest change in Medicare in over 20 years, many therapists are concerned about the security of their professions and their overall perceived value as a source of revenue within their workplace. Due to the rising cost of healthcare in older adults, the Federal Government is constantly seeking methods to reduce spending and improve outcomes. Fee-for-service models of reimbursement are being replaced by value-based models, shifting the focus from quantity of services to more comprehensive quality care. Fortherapists, this means focusing in on our unique and pivotalrole as agents of change in patients' recovery process.
This timely course will provide an overview of Medicare reimbursement changes, dispel myths, and provide effective methods for administering value-based therapy services that align with Medicare changes. This impairment-basedapproach features applications for every learning style including video vignettes, case studies, "coffee shop" discussion, and hands-on practice. You will walk away with efficient yet effective treatment and documentation ideas and help to secure therapists' pivotal role as valued members ofthe healthcare team.
*Hands on lab will be modified for Web based delivery formats into recorded demonstrations
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants

i would generally not recommend this course for somebody in an outpatient physical therapy setting. i was expecting to learn more about how medicare billing is evolving, and how outpatient clinics can utilize this. i also found it was a little hard to follow the sequencing of subjects with an unclear definition of what value based care actually was. there didn't seem to be a common theme between different subjects.
