Most physical therapists learn the basic principles of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), but that information is often lacking and forgotten over time. Having a deeper understanding of the principles behind NMES and how to modify parameters will allow clinicians to better address the complex needs of a neurologic population. This course will provide clinicians with a thorough summary of the science behind NMES and detailed discussion on how to use this information in a clinically meaningful way with patients with neurologic conditions. Participations will walk away with strategies and tools to immediately implement in their clinical practice.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants

it was disturbing when the instructor mentioned that she didn't fully grasp the basic concepts of amp, frequency, phase duration, etc as a pt student. it was concerning that she insinuated that her program glossed over those vital aspects of nmes. i'm glad she's confident now, but maybe don't normalize graduating from pt school without a thorough and fleshed-out knowledge of the basics of what we do.
