Chronic pain frequently limits work-life activities with recent CDC statistics estimating 20.4% of adults experiencing chronic pain in 2019. Pair that with nearly 50,000 people inthe United States dying from opioid overdose, it is clear healthcare providers have work to do. It is very likely you have treated people with chronic pain or who seem to be on the path to a persistent vicious pain cycle. The question iswhat can we do better as clinicians to help these patients? Improving our understanding of the neuroscience around pain and being able to apply evidence in practice is a part of the solution. This course will provide you with a direct andsimplistic overview of neurobiology and neurophysiologyrelation to pain, present current pain neuroscience evidence, and teach clinical applications that can be immediatelyimplemented into your practice. Patient handout examples will be provided. This course is a must for all therapists and athletic trainers working in a variety of settings.

good analogies for explaining central sensitization in multiple ways. i liked the real life examples of pt situations successes and challenges. i liked that you included goal writing and gave an idea about time frames estimated and actually achieved.

instructor did say pne not like cbt but with the amount of personal experience and anecdotes he shared it felt more like cbt. would've been helpful to just focus on screen than on instructor pacing as he wasn't demonstrating anything.
