Breast cancer accounts for 15.5% of all new cases of cancer and is the leading cancer diagnosis in women. The survival rate continues to improve with a 5-year survival rate of 91.2%, meaning more patients are living with a history of cancer and the impacts of cancer related treatment. Rehabilitation plays an important role in the adjuvant setting due to the wide range of treatments and acute/long term sideeffects of these treatments.
This workshop will examine the rehabilitation therapist'srole throughout the breast cancer medical course including post-operatively and throughout adjuvant care. Case examples will be presented including protocols and standardsof practice in the outpatient setting. Once complete the learner will be familiar with types of adjuvant care, commonside effects as well as rehabilitation implications for each withappropriate rehabilitation treatment options.

much of this information was new to me. this is not nor has it been n area of practice , for therapist who regularly see these patients, i am certain that they found this seminar beneficial. foe e, it i am able to pass this test.
