Kinesiology taping is a useful tool for treating and preventing various common physical conditions and athletic injuries. It is widely used to provide targeted support to muscles and joints, facilitating proper biomechanics and enhancing functional movement patterns. Taping can be a great addition to your current practice, affecting the patient orathlete in a positive way for several days of wear outside of the clinic. This unique tape has been designed to mimic human skin; it is able to stretch 120-140% (the same elasticity as skin) of its normal resting length, allowing more mobility than standard athletic taping.
This workshop will include demonstrations to give the participant an understanding of the benefits of kinesiology taping that can be applied to any common orthopedic andmusculoskeletal condition. Practitioners will be able to implement taping as a beneficial adjunct to their current practice to optimize joint alignment, improve joint proprioception, improve lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling, and facilitate or inhibit muscular function. After the practitioner has understanding of the fundamentals of taping, they can carry over these principals to tape any commonmusculoskeletal condition.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Athletic Trainers
