Evidence-Based Upper Extremity Evaluation

The upper extremity is a complex body region that includes the most mobile joint in the body, the shoulder. When evaluating the upper extremity clinicians must choose between motion tests and strength tests, as well as many “special” tests. This course will discuss the evidence-based upside-down triangle approach to evaluating the shoulder to help clinicians best use the time they have with UE patients. Participants will review the evidence behind the objective measures provided to help them best treatpatients with upper extremity dysfunction. At the end of thecourse, participants will have improved evaluation skills tooptimize overall outcomes for the UE patient population.
