Today is the 6th annual World Autism Awareness Day! In order to commemorate Autism awareness, Autism Speaks created the “Light It Up Blue” campaign in 2010. Last year more than 3,000 buildings and landmarks in over 50 countries on 6 continents turned their lights blue in commemoration of World Autism Awareness. Here are a few ways that you can Light It Up Blue in your community!
- Wear blue clothing or an Autism Speaks pin during the month of April to spread awareness
- Post Autism information on your social media sites
- Take part in an Autism Walk Event (Click here to find an event in your area)
Visit the official Light It Up Blue website for more information and ideas on how to promote Autism awareness.
